Eight Ayurvedic Healthy Practices

  1. Meditate at least 5 minutes in the morning. Morning practice is the juice with all the ingredients.
  2. Fill up on rooted veggies, plenty of sweet potatoes, squash and don’t forget seasonal apples and pears mixed with pumpkin seeds or walnuts and a dash of jaggery and cinnamon for sweet.
  3. Oil up the skin! This is a time to switch from coconut oil and almond oil to a little more warming oils like sesame and even olive oil. My suggestion is to bathe your skin in these oils and then sit in a dry sauna 10 to 15 minutes. You will experience amazing results.
  4. Time for more water. Hydration is a must be sure your water is Pure and Clean! I’ve had amazing results with distilled water as well.
  5. For cooking use ghee and plenty of turmeric and ginger root this time of year. It's great for keeping the tube lubed so to speak. The anti-infectious and anti-inflammatory qualities of turmeric and ginger offer positive support for the season.
  6. Make more Khichardi! There are plenty of recipes online.
  7. Make a new bedtime if you can. Begin adjusting to the time change. Discipline your electronic use before bed and have real conversations.
  8. Be inspired by a book, drink herbal tea and Love Your Neighbors. You never know when you may need to call on them.
