Black tears rain down my face
Black as night shedding colors from the day Light dims and the shadow rises, like a foolish dreamer Stars twinkle so far away My reach is not long enough Black tears rain on my cheeks Reminding me of a lost way Families fall Night takes over Love is hard to hold Black tears rise from the early morning mist Grey takes over the land Coarse contact preys on the body Black tears run down my face asking to meet Above the tree line where the sky touches the snow Distraction has no room to dance Space holds silence Silence holds stillness Stillness holds reconciliation Love becomes one By Karen Barbarick-Collins

How to move with ease and grace
In the unspoken addiction to life Afflictions amplified by Memories of truth Are always by my side Do not fall asleep Beware of Illusion and constraints Three dimensions create walls Do not get trapped on one side Like the moon in daylight Dance in the field and Delight in the horizon Angels and Demons Woven together tight Shadows compressed into space Machinery dismembered Skin shed Dismiss color Dismiss sound Dismiss taste Dismiss touch The mind betrayed by itself awakens from confinement In the distance Is love seeping through Cells held together By gravity shared The planet is animated again A new hologram Rainbow light flickers Distilled ash Shutters and shakes Around and around We go Unfinished business Reclaiming the healer in me
The Celtic child that could see The girl who could call and calm the storm The one who could talk to the thorns I reclaim the healer in me The knower of nature now has her wings The earth gives me power The sky feeds my spirit I will not forget you I will not reject you The healer in me My Celtic cross has been freed I reclaim the Seer With courage Believe Ancestors come to me
I am here for you You are me and I am you The grace, the memory The signs, the symptoms, the Eulogies Ancestors come to me I am here for you You are me and I am you Forbidden and ghostly I am antiquity Ancestors come to me I am here for you You are me and I am you I am my mother, my father, my sisters, my brothers I am the children, the babies The unborn soldiers I am the wisdom of the fallen ones, the heart that moved them The bugs that swallowed them I am the kind words spoken of them; I am healing Grandmother come to me, riddled in wonder tell me your reason Grandfather come to me tell me your why I am the fox as it sneaks up behind me I am the minds that are locked up around me I am everything Ancestors come to me I am here for you You are me and I am you. |
