For this edition of the blog I'm sharing a short story written by W. Peter Collins. It's a story about something we don't talk much about but really should, death. It's also about the absurd, destructive cruelty of war, and how those we love can live in our memories.
A Note From The Author I just realized this story, The Deaths We Care About, is coming out right before Memorial Day. Totally unplanned but appropriate timing. So many people dead.. So many people carrying the guilt of those deaths. It occurs to me that humans are the only creatures who have mastered the art of wastefulness; money, nature, communities, lives. The list goes on and on. All I can say is find someone or lots of someones to care about, to love and cherish. May all those who have died so unnecessarily live on in the memories of those who loved them, and love them still. Due to the rules of fair publishing I'm posting a link to the story in the magazine that published it, Bull Literary Magazine. The image below is the link. Best wishes to you and your loved ones. W. Peter Collins
